ENTRY DOORS
Our process is carefully designed to safely provide a beautiful, long lasting varnish-like finish on wood doors.
After the hardware is removed, the entry door is removed and placed on a padded sawhorse. A tarp is placed over the doorway to keep insects outside and the climate, inside.
The door is masked, chemically stripped, sanded, cleaned and re-installed.
After masking, the sidelites are stripped, sanded and cleaned. Two wet coats of Sikkens basecoat stain are applied and the door hardware is reinstalled.
We apply three coats of Sikkens tinted or clear sealers to guarantee color match. Each dries overnight to a satin finish, before recoating.
The door can be closed and locked throughout the process, without smudging the finish. We do not recommend using entry doors throughout the process.
On the final day, the trim is repainted, glass cleaned and weather strips are installed.
